Behind The Bars: Where are you from?

Chayna Ashley: Most people don't know this but I'm originally from Harlem. I moved to the Bronx when I was 12. But it's BX All Day!!

Behind The Bars: What got you first interested in battle rap?

Chayna Ashley: When I saw Mook Vs Jae Millz. That was the 1st battle I saw, I loved it so much I had it on my iPod and knew every word lol.

Behind The Bars: Do you remember your first Rhyme?

Chayna Ashley: Not word for word but I remember the 1st time I wrote a rhyme. I was at my Aunts house and my cousin was rapping. I said " I wanna rap too". He handed me a pen and paper and said write. I said I didn't have anything to rap about and he replied "write about what you know". I was like 7 so it was probably about toys and school lol.

Behind The Bars: How would you describe your style of rhyming?

Chayna Ashley: Unique in a way. I'm very laid back but very dominating whether its in the ring or the booth.

Behind The Bars: Where did the "Female biggie" name come from?

Chayna Ashley: Lol honestly I don't know. The 1st time I heard it was after I battled Phara and it stuck ever since. I think it's a combination of my size and my skill. Cuz if I was skinny they wouldn't make the comparison. But if I was wack they wouldn't either, so I'm honored to be compared to the great B.I.G.

Behind The Bars: Why do you think people always assume when a female rapper is nice that someone wrote it for them?

Chayna Ashley: To be honest I don't even comprehend a thought like that. It's 2012. If this was back in the day I could understand, but now a days females are just as nice or nicer than a lot guys. But don't get it twisted some chicks do get assisted with the pen. I'm proud to say I'm not one of them lol.

Behind The Bars: How do you feel about some battlers digging for personals as opposed to just having "universal" bars?

Chayna Ashley: My opinion-Personals are Corny. They take away from what real rhyming is. I don't discredit anybody though, some people actual win Rounds & Battles from personals, but it's something I can't do.

Behind The Bars: Is it harder writing for a battle or for a song for you?

Chayna Ashley: Both. I'm a very anal writer. If I don't feel like the line was hot (Battle or song) or it could be better, I take my time to perfect it. And I do that line by line until I'm satisfied with the outcome.

Behind The Bars: Do you enjoy writing and performing songs, or battling more?

Chayna Ashley: I enjoy them equally.

Behind The Bars: How does your family feel about you battling?

Chayna Ashley: They love it! My cousins are my biggest Fans! They're proud and I love making them proud.

Behind The Bars: Your in alot of peoples top 5 does that put pressure on you? How do you deal with it?

Chayna Ashley: Not so much as pressure, but responsibility. I feel I have an obligation to my fans to not disappoint so I try to get better and keep improving.

Behind The Bars: Who is your favorite battle rapper male & Female?

Chayna Ashley: I wanna say Rex or K(shine) for my male favorite but people gonna call me bias lmao. So imma say Surf. My favorite female right now is 40.

Behind The Bars: If you could battle any male battler who would it be?

Chayna Ashley: Surf or X- Factor

Chayna Ashley: Eminem

Behind The Bars: How do you feel about gun bars/schemes? Alot of people say that they aren't creative and your known to talk about guns.

Chayna Ashley: it's middle finger to whoever say that lol. Naw, I can see where their coming from but it's not as easy as everyone thinks. The hottest bars in battles be gun play, n there's a reason for that. It shows just as much creativity as other punchlines it's justice more commonly done.

Behind The Bars: What elements of battling are important to you?

Chayna Ashley: Bars!!! That's all that matters.

Behind The Bars: Do you consider yourself a vet?

Chayna Ashley: I guess. I feel like we haven't been doing this long enough to be considered Vets though. 5-10 years from now, most def. For now I'm just trying to make sure my name is forever mentioned in female battle rap history.

Behind The Bars: What are some of your goals inside and outside of the ring?

Chayna Ashley: My main goal in the ring is to be the best. Point Blank Period. Outside of the ring, my plan is to be successful. Whether that's with my music or my Career.

Behind The Bars: How important is Queen of the ring and what does it mean to you?

Chayna Ashley: QOTR is very important. Not only to me, and the dozens of other girls that battle. But to the fans. QOTR gave something that was never even thought about or taken serious. QOTR means endless possibilities for female rap culture.

Behind The Bars: Whats your craziest fan moment?

Chayna Ashley: lol I have so many. My craziest moment would have to be when I was in Baltimore waiting for my bus to get back home and this girl comes flying towards me. She's like "I'm so sorry but are you Chayna, Chayna Ashley?" I'm like yea and she stars screaming and everybody turns and look. She's like "OH MY GOD I LOVE U SOOOO MUCH. CAN I PLEASE GET YOUR AUTOGRAPH?!!!" As I gave it to her she was so excited and gave me the bear hug. The whole bus stop was looking at me lmao. That was my craziest and favorite fan moment.

Behind The Bars: What are some of the ways you think female battle rap can improve?

Chayna Ashley: the best and only way for us to grow is to just keep grinding and keep getting better. Elevate this until EVERYBODY knows who we are.

Behind The Bars: Tell us one thing that no one would know about you.

Chayna Ashley: I used to go by another name n I'm taking it to the grave lmao

Behind The Bars: Chayna Ashley Vs. Jaz The Rapper has to be one of the most debatable battles in Qotr Who do you think won?

Chayna Ashley: lmao every time me or somebody says I won ALL Hell breaks loose but I'm going wit C-Ash for the win. F*** whoever thinks otherwise lmao jk

Behind The Bars: What made you join DotMob knowing they are arguably the most hated group in battle rap?

Chayna Ashley: Niggas hate on the best. Say what you want but DotMob ain't to b messed wit. Our Roster Crazii an the talent is ridiculous. But beside from that lol I joined cuz i looked up to Rex. I watched him and Mook growing up. It wasn't an easy decision to make though. I asked close ones and most of them said don't do it. But I know i made the right choice. DOTMOBBITCH

Chayna Ashley: Naw these niggas be spitting for days I'm getting my weight up lmao

Behind The Bars: Are there any plans for a all Female Dot mob crew in Qotr?

Chayna Ashley: lmao might as well right? But naw, we don't gotta make a crew, they just know who's running shit lmao

Behind The Bars: Your next opponent is Ms Fit at Panic Room 2, how did that come about? i know you had some words for her in your battle with Jaz.

Chayna Ashley: Me n Fit was suppose to been battle. Even before I battled Jaz. I was the one that told Debo I wanted to kill her. She had different plans and battled E Hart instead. But we here now..

Behind The Bars: With an on going feud between Cortez (murda ave) and T-rex (dot mob) does that put more pressure on this battle for you?

Chayna Ashley: Naw but it will make the victory even sweeter.

Behind The Bars: Do you want to speak on the situation on why you and Ms. Hustle Battle was cancelled?

Chayna Ashley: She backed out.

Behind The Bars: If the opportunity presented it self for you to battle Ms. Hustle again would you?

Chayna Ashley: Honestly I don't know. *shrugs*

Behind The Bars: I notice you attend alot of sparring sessions how important do you think having a sparring session is.?

Chayna Ashley: I think it helps filter the best from the worst. It also gives some ladies the chance to grow and get ready for the ring. I love the sparring session!

Behind The Bars: Do you see anyone in sparring session coming up that has potential?

Chayna Ashley: yea a couple of em been getting crazy. I even told Jai Smoove I had to kill her lol. I see her, Hazzy, Tash and Pak get better every battle so I'm anxious to see them in the ring.

Behind The Bars: Jai Smoove in our last interview said "Chayna will get the problem she is asking for though, in due time." referring to you saying you was going to kill her.. any words for Jai SMoove?

Chayna Ashley: U betta chill *drops mic* lol

Behind The Bars: Who is on your hit list?

Chayna Ashley: To keep it a 100 EVERYBODY. I have people that I want to kill immediately. But after that I'm battling everybody

Fresh on the scene, Brooklyn native, Jai Smoove has quickly made a name for herself. With just a few battles under her belt, the rookie has top tier battlers looking to take a jab at her. But with her swift and slick word play and energy, do they really want to step in the ring and catch that lyrical uppercut?

Behind The Bars: Where are you from?

Jai Smoove: This is a question I’ve been getting a lot lately because people always hear me say “BK to PK, 718 to that 845,” before my battles and they don’t seem to understand. I was born in Brooklyn lived there for a little while then I moved to Poughkeepsie until I graduated high school. My heart is in Brooklyn but Poughkeepsie was always where home was. Don’t get it twisted, I represent both. Plus, I’m back in Brooklyn now so it is what it is. Shout out to the murder capitol AND the power kingdom !

Behind The Bars: What was your 1st encounter with battle rap?

Jai Smoove: Im going to keep it so real. Most people probably won’t believe this but I’ve never ever followed battle rap until a couple of months ago. I didn’t know anything about any of these battle rappers. For example, two summers ago, im guessing before the first summer madness, I was in BBQs on 42nd Street with Quastar (yes we’ve been associates before battle rap) and a couple other friends and we ran into Hitman Holla and his entourage. I didn’t know who the hell he was. The only person I could say I knew of before then honestly was Murda Mook and that’s only because my brother is a Ruff Ryder. Shout out to my older brother Jae Hood and the whole Ruff Ryder VA Chapter. So my first official encounter with battle rap had to be the March 2012 QOTR sparring session where QuaStar battled Ms.Tash. That introduced me to the culture and QOTR at the same damn time.

Behind The Bars: How did you get into battle rap?

Jai Smoove: At that sparring session I was just watching all the ladies do their thing. That inspired me to step up and do my thing. I knew my creativity and talents with the pen could carry me a long way in battle rap and get me the exposure I’m looking for.

Behind The Bars: How do you prepare for your battles?

Jai Smoove: I do a couple of different things. It depends on my motivation for that specific opponent. One thing I don’t do is dig for dirt. I feel that’s unnecessary when you have the capabilities of being creative and building bars based on different varieties of themes. But one thing I will say is if the dirt falls in my lap trust I won’t dust it off.

Behind The Bars: Is it harder for you to write for a battle or for a song?

Jai Smoove:  Not that I’m saying it’s hard but preparing rounds for a battle is 10x harder than writing a song.

Behind The Bars: You have quickly become a fan favorite does that put alot of pressure on you?

Jai Smoove: Yes and No. Being a college athlete, I’m used to pressure. But I do know one thing for sure, within these 4months that I’ve been on the scene, a lot of fans and supporters are already expecting me to be perfect with everything I do so I’m taking that and using that as motivation to get my bars, “performance” and delivery flawless. The fact that they are already expecting this from me out of most of the girls, I’m humbled.

Behind The Bars: Chayna Ashley recently said she would kill you in that ring.. How does that make you feel being that you are fairly new on the battle rap scene?

Jai Smoove: Chayna’s little shenanigans are cute, real cute. Chayna will get the problem she is asking for though, in due time. I saw her “hitlist” and she probably won’t even make it to me. I hope Hart, Bonnie and 40 save a little piece of her for me. But how does it make me feel? It makes me feel like she likes to die. Nah, seriously, I respect Chayna because I know she wouldn’t ever choose anyone to battle that didn’t have bars. I’m on a “hitlist” of heavy weights, so I’m flattered.

Behind The Bars: Who is your favorite battle rapper male & Female?

Jai Smoove: Well I just started watching but I do have a couple of favorites in the male category. Without thinking I have to say my favorites are two of the most underrated guys doing it: Chilla Jones and B Magic. The female side, umm me. Anymore questions?

Behind The Bars: If you could battle a male who would it be?

Jai Smoove: Chilla Jones just to challenge myself to see if I could outsmart him. I’m pretty confident I could or even just reach his level.

Behind The Bars: Who is in your top 5 in QOTR?

Jai Smoove: I don’t have or believe in a “top 5”. Either you’re dope or not to me. I feel a “top 5” is irrelevant in my book because we‘re all hungry for the same throne. Nobody’s made it yet.

Behind The Bars: What do you think about some emcees getting by with a great performance with not many bars?

Jai Smoove: I think it’s entertaining but I can’t respect it. Anybody can do that. I thought battle rap was about the pen. I don’t think back in the days on the block they went home like “oh yo her performance was dope” it was more like “that girl can spit”. We seem to be slowly easing away from the blueprint battle rap was built on.

Behind The Bars: What elements of battling are important to you?

Jai Smoove: Bars, Delivery and Crowd Interactions..

Behind The Bars: Have any of the vets taken you under their wing and/or given you any advice/guidance??

Jai Smoove: A couple of ladies have given me some pointers on how to improve on a couple things. Shout out to them.

Behind The Bars: What are some of your goals inside and outside of the ring?

Jai Smoove: My main goal is to be successful with my music. My initial objective coming into this was marketing and exposure.

Behind The Bars: How important is Queen of the ring and what does it mean to you?

Jai Smoove: Queen of the Ring is very important to me. This whole organization is doing exactly what I wanted it to do for me. I’ll continue to ‘Rep The Brand’ faithfully. Shout out to Debo, Babs and Vague for giving me this opportunity to do me.

Behind The Bars: How would you describe your style of rhyming?

Jai Smoove: My style of rhyming is Jai. I just try to sound like myself. One thing I don’t want to ever do is sound like the next chick or dude. I want people to here a verse and say, “Yupp that’s Jai”.

Behind The Bars: Who do you want to battle? Do you have a hit list?

Jai Smoove: Of course I have a “hitlist”. Anybody that’s smart and coming to take over should. I’ll keep that list to myself though for now. Just know they all have 100K battles, except Young Gattas. Wait I don’t know if she has a 100K battle. Who cares though? But anyways, shout out to Gattas, she’s dope.

Behind The Bars: Since you have been on Queen of the Ring, have you gotten recognized??

Jai Smoove: I have definitely gotten recognize in the streets on two occasions. There was one time in the grocery store around my way and once on my way to a ring event. Also the lesbian community is definitely acknowledging me a whole lot more than normal now.

Behind The Bars: What are some of the ways you think female battle rap can improve?

Jai Smoove: If all the ladies stop trying to kill each other and just come together. Of course we are going to argue and bicker but if we all come together when we have to and go take over all these male dominant events, then the battle rap culture will have no choice but to respect us. Like why can’t we all team up and go 40 deep into a SMACK event? Or why can’t we take our show on the road and do events in other cities? It’s because females rather be sensitive than to focus on the bigger picture. I mean I know QOTR will do this in the future but that’s just my opinion on improving female battle rap.

Behind The Bars: How important is style/swag in the ring?

Jai Smoove: I mean it’s how you represent and market yourself. All artists have to understand that every time you get on camera you are representing yourself. I hate when people get on camera looking a whole hot mess, I just hate it so much. Style is very important. At least be clean, whiten your teeth and brush your weave.

Behind The Bars: How important was your sparring session battles?

Jai Smoove: Very important. I can always look back and see what I did wrong to improve my next performance. They also helped me transition into hostility of battling. Coming in I thought it would be just like performing on a stage. I was more than wrong. Battling is 10x more intense than being on stage entertaining a couple hundred or thousand fans.

Behind The Bars:  Was there anyone that you would have liked to battle in sparring session before they went to the ring?

Jai Smoove: Nope.

Behind The Bars: I see alot of chicks saying they have a girl crush on you...is all the ladies attention overwhelming? Do you think it was the stuff crust pizza bar that got them open?

Jai Smoove: *laughs* Oh boy. Overwhelming? I’ve been going through this way before QOTR. I’m used to it. And unfortunately, the stuffed crust pizza line has the MEN open; the women already knew the deal.

Behind The Bars: Does Pizza Hut Still make Stuff Crust Pizza???

Jai Smoove: Yes and I LOVE it. *looks around*

       The Baltimore rap scene is expanding at a rapid speed and The Baltimore girls have stepped on the Queen of The Ring scene  to show they aren't to be messed with. One fourth of the crew, the youngster, Ms. Pak might be small but she packs a mean punch and she displayed t that in her come back battle against Philly rival Zan. Not only is she slick and swift with the words, she has a mean Style and a crazy shoe game to match her flow! 

Bars, Beauty & Style: Tell me something about yourself and your style?

Ms. Pak: I don't have one particular style. My style consists of what ever is comfortable, or what looks nice to me. I'm kind of an aggressive fem, but not to the point where i dress like a guy. I absolutely hate skirts, but Ill wear a nice tight fitting dress. I like jeans and sneakers and I love makeup!

Bars, Beauty & Style: What does fashion mean to you?

Ms. Pak: Fashion defines a person. Fashion defines mood. Fashion is personality. You can look at a person, and the way they dress, and describe their attitude in some sort. Like Tori, she's always swagged out, and that's her personality. And definitely, to some degree, you can tell where a person is from based on the way they dress..In my opinion, NY people tend to wear sneakers a lot kinda tomboyish. The Philly chicks wear a lot of colors. The B More chicks are more dressy.

Bars, Beauty & Style: How would you describe your style?

Ms. Pak: Like I said before, my style is more of whats comfortable to me, but lately my style has been kinda on the Aaliyah side. I'm not used to wearing black hair, I usually wear Red/Blonde/Brown, so I tried something different in my Zan battle.

Bars, Beauty & Style: In your previous battles, you typically dressed down but in your come back battled you decided to get dolled up. Was there a reason behind the look adjustment?

Ms. Pak: Everyone on Worldstar (.com) is the reason i switched. After my battle with Couture i decided that not only would i change my flow, delivery, and confidence levels, but id also change my style. I wanted to come back as a new person in a whole.

Bars, Beauty & Style: In the industry, looks tend to overshadow a woman's work ethic and skill, in your previous battles did you not get all glamorous because you felt it would take away from what you were doing?

Ms. Pak: No, because even when I didn't dress up, people were still falling all over me. (laughs). It never had to do with what I wore.

Bars, Beauty & Style: Your boyfriend, Pakman, whose also into battle rap is always with you at events, how does he feel about your sense of style? Does he enjoy you dressing up or down?

Ms. Pak: The black hair was his idea. I told him to suggest a color and he said black because one time I had a black bang bob, and he loved it. When it comes to style, hes very lenient. Contrary to belief, he doesn't want me to be all covered up because he's "Paki", he wants me to look nice. But he hates the makeup idea, so he only likes when I wear it for "special occasions" like my battles or when we go out.

Bars, Beauty & Style: What are some of your favorite places to shop?

Ms. Pak: Online. I shop online a lot because I hate having stuff that other people have. I like Bakers, Aldo, and any place in Soho. I try not to shop in B More  cause a lot of people dress in the same things down here.

Bars, Beauty & Style: Are you into following fashion trends?

Ms. Pak: No, but if i see something i like, I may say, "Hey, where'd you get that from?" Or I may take the idea and put it in my own way.

Bars, Beauty & Style: Who's style in QOTR do you admire the most and why?

Ms. Pak: Tori Doe, the Jada (outfit) from Panic Room Sparring Session, and Shooney.

Bars, Beauty & Style: Does your style and wardrobe play a part in your battling?

Ms. Pak: My outfit for my battles is based on the content of my bars. For my Juice battle I wore tennis cause I had alot of fighting bars. For my Tune battle I had white pants on because alot of my bars had to do with "racial slurs" (im far from racist tho, im a mut) and blood. For my Couture battle not so much. But for my Zan battle, it was a new look.

Bars, Beauty & Style: Any last comments regarding your next battle or where to find you on social sites, etc?

Ms. Pak: I am currently working with a local producer on my mixtape. It was supposed to drop months ago, but we trashed it because we switched directions with it. My next battle is....well yall know. You can find me @BMoreMsPak on everything.

Behind The Bars Interviews Jaz The Rapper

Its Jaz and I Does This"......This Brooklyn native is no rookie when it comes to battling. She has been aware of the battle rap scene since she was 13 years old, Not battling then but this is where Jaz The Rapper knew that battling was something that she could not get enough of. Now in 2012 Jaz the Rapper is a name you want to know. Making her debut in Queen Of The Ring, Jaz put that passion of the pen in a great first battle when she battled Skye who was already accustomed to the ring. That however didn't stop Jaz as she blew minds and walked away with the win. -"Put Skye in a box, BALL GAME" (Jaz vs Skye). With great world play, punch lines and rhyme schemes we could not wait to see what else Jaz had up her sleeve. We didn't have to wait too long. Her next two match-ups, K Prophet and Chayna Ashley proved why she is on almost everyone's "top 5". Hate her or love her don't get caught sleeping on Jaz and that's Jaz with one Z, but if you do you can catch two or three and go night, night nigga. So be on the look out for Jaz as she keeps swinging the bat and knocking her competitors out the park.

Jaz The Rapper: Brooklyn NY born and raised

Behind The Bars: What was your 1st battle experience?

Jaz The Rapper: it was either Lux vs Miles or Rex vs Un Kasa but i always watched battles with my cousin. We were big fans and knew the SMACK battles word for word. I kind of fell off over the years then got back into it when someone sent me footage of Conceited vs Tall T (RIP) , that's when i got back into it .

Behind The Bars: How did you get into battle rap, and who was your first battle with?

Jaz The Rapper: My boy Nino Man set me up to get on an all female guest show on Oun P's "OOhWay Radio" and all the girls flopped but me so the interview was just about me. i spit like madddd bars and Debo hit me on Twitter the same week asking me to battle. I was skeptical about it so i didn't accept his request. I was friends w. Nuborn and DNA at the time and Nuborn told me that he think i'd be good at battling but DNA was skeptical too, thinking i didn't have the image or aggression to handle the ring, which i agreed with. Few months later I gave in and told Debo i would battle. He then dropped Skye vs QB and told me i would battle Skye. I attended the Dutchess vs Ms Fit event which gave me an idea how the events were and what to expect and i really enjoyed myself. Me and Skye were originally set up to battle on this card but she backed out four days earlier and we got pushed back to the January card including Shana Konor vs StarGirl LAdy Red. So my first battle was w. Skye and well , we all know how that went.

Behind The Bars: what inspires you to Rap/battle and which crowd do you enjoy performing for more rap/battle?

Jaz The Rapper: I get inspired to rap by up and coming rappers just like me. When I hear a dope rapper and see that they're grindin and trying to be something just like me, it motivates me so much. As far as battling, honestly, just bars inspires me to battle. LOL , i love bars and when i'm in the crowd and react to bars and see how people react, I want to do the same thing. I wanna say something hot and make the crowd go crazy too so that's what inspires me to battle. I would have to say i enjoy performing songs more than battles because one doesn't expect to get crazy reaction while performing a song. If people don't react while im battling then i know i am not doing well but while performing a song i can have as much fun as i want, don't have to worry about choking, and people can just enjoy my music. But this is a very close debate.

Behind The Bars: How Does your family feel about you being a rapper/battle rapper?

Jaz The Rapper: My cousin is a huge supporter (the same cousin that i watched battles with when i was younger). Her father shows my battles to whoever comes to his house . My sister supports me but she's always nervous the day of my battles lol. My mom and dad support me also. My mom watched my battle with Skye every single day for two months so, yeah lol.

Behind The Bars: What male battle rappers style would you compare yourself with?

Jaz The Rapper: I'd say i'm like a Conceited, DNA, and X Factor ... punchlines , setups , and wit ... but if i had to choose one i'd say Conceited.

Behind The Bars: If you where asked to be in another female 2 ON 2 battle, who would you like to be your partner?

Behind The Bars: What bars have you heard from a female in a battle and thought to yourself, Damn why didn't I think of that?

Jaz The Rapper: there have been a few but I can't remember off top. Probably something from 40 B.A.R.R.S

Behind The Bars: Do you think the supporters/fans judge the battles fairly?

Jaz The Rapper: Everyone has their biases and preferences, i think there are some ignorant people that judge a battle off who looks better or who's more believable (which i feel should be void) but for the most part, yes i think it is a  fair criteria of how they judge. Except for when they say I lost to Chayna Ashley, i just don't get it lol j/k. (I really won though)

Jaz The Rapper: Chayna Ashley & Conceited

Behind The Bars: How far do you see females in battle rap going and is it in a good space right now?

Jaz The Rapper: I see females in battle rap going as far as some guys as long as they stay consistent and relevant. Female battle rap is in a GREAT space right now , my name has been said in at least 10 battle leagues outside of QOTR, Chilla Jones just did a QOTR battler scheme, DNA and Serious Jones mentioned QOTR or someone from it at Summer Madness 2. The females are definitely becoming more popular, and I hope it keeps going.

Behind The Bars: How do you feel about the term Bars over Jokes?

Jaz The Rapper: 100% .. but as i say all the time, in every battle it is different. I Agree 100% only if someone has crazy bars and someone has funny jokes then I'll choose the person with the bars. But I won't pick the person w. the bars if they were trash and the other person had jokes I'll choose who I liked more.

Behind The Bars: What elements of battling are important to you?

Jaz The Rapper: BARS !!! j/k bars are MOST important to me but everything is important. When you have the total package its more reasons I can say you won. Delivery is BIG, performance, and that's pretty much it.

Behind The Bars: Alot of critics say you have bars but your performance is boring,will u be bringing something new that we haven't seen from you?

Jaz The Rapper: yea, new bars. I disagree when people say my performance is boring because i moved around, they may mean my delivery is boring. I am working on that but one always has to remember, you can't please everyone.

Behind The Bars: Alot of times fans or critics may give constructive criticism or say some harsh words how do you deal with it?

Jaz The Rapper: Constructive criticism i always listen to and take into consideration. Harsh words can also be constructive criticism but sometimes its just over the top. I either laugh or ignore it.

Behind The Bars: Qb is your next opponent your styles are very different have you come up with a strategy for her yet?

Jaz The Rapper: Yes i have come up with a strategy.  *Stevie J face*

Behind The Bars: What made you and Qb decide to battle in Url instead of Queen of the ring and how will you be repping the brand?

Jaz The Rapper: QB wanted the battle to be on URL . I'm not too big on battling there and I'd much rather it be on Queen of the Ring simply because i KNOW the battle will drop, especially in a fair amount of time, but i didn't say no because battling on URL isn't a bad thing, its very beneficial. I feel that me and QB putting on a show will propel female battle rap so much. QOTR will attain new fans and people will be more open to female battlers to see who else is big on the scene. Simply putting on a show and making history is how I will rep the brand and even make the brand bigger.

Behind The Bars: After QB who would you like to battle next? Do you have a hit list you'd like to share?

Jaz The Rapper: 40 B.A.R.R.S but after her performance vs Tori Doe, I don't know now.

Behind The Bars: Whats your craziest fan moment?

Jaz The Rapper: I have three . My first one was last year I was at my aunt's wake and I was leaving, crying and everything, and some lady comes up to me outside like I know you, I saw your battles. (I think she was drunk) and she's like can i get your autograph. I'm laughing wiping my tears like what the hell? And she pulls out her pen and I'm just confused like do i really give her an autograph? lol

my second moment was when I was at the club in Atlanta and I was on line outside. I was talking to my best friend a dude walks by and says Jaz waddup ! i look at my best friend like oh he must know me through her and i'm like whats good? he goes yo wait till I tell my cousin you're here. He starts yelling down the block "yo, D!, yo , D ! " he walks off like "i'll be right back " and then his cousin comes. It was just crazy that i got noticed all the way in ATL.

my last crazy moment was when I was at the bus stop heading to school . So some guy walks up to me and he's like yo you rap ?? and i'm like yes, and he goes yooo you're jaz the rapper ! and im laughing like yea he's like yoo thats crazy me and my cousin were just watching your battle (vs chayna ashley) we saw it on URL . And i'm like oh word? and he's like yea yo i gotta call my cousin he's in love w. you so i'm laughing it off. He really called his cousin he's like "yo guess who im lookin at right now .... jaz the rapper" so he hands me his phone and i'm like "hello?" dudes goes Jaz you are so sexy can i take you out... add me on Facebook .. let me get your # so we can text.." and so much other stuff and i'm just laughing it off but it was so crazy !

Behind The Bars: What are some of the ways you think female battle rap can improve?

Jaz The Rapper: exterminate all the wack girls, if you don't got bars just don't come, PLEASE. People already think females can't rap and they're not helping the stereotype one bit !

Behind The Bars: How important is queen of the ring in a male dominated sport?

Jaz The Rapper: Very important because if you think about it, there are at least 50 females that have gone and come in QOTR. Some of us can even compete with some of the guys and give them a run for their money. It just allows people to see that females can do what men can do and its not just one female its alot of us.

Behind The Bars: Which do you enjoy watching more sparring session or the ring?

Jaz The Rapper: I enjoy the ring battles more because lately there's been less choking and in the sparring session there is a lot of choking. Also, the girls in the ring are polished so generally, they'll have less flaws than the sparring session chicks who may have never even battled before.

Behind The Bars: How important do you think the sparring session is and how different is it from the ring?

Jaz The Rapper: Sparring session is very important because like i said before... it filters out the wack girls. It is like a try out to "hang" with the girls who already have a little name and talent. Sparring Session is different from the ring in many ways. The room that u battle in is smaller, the crowd is initimate (meaning the ring crowd is bigger), and also, the space that you have to move is limited but in the ring its a very big area you have to cover.

Behind The Bars: Besides battle rap and music what are some of your goals you would like to accomplish?

Jaz The Rapper: I would like to graduate college and meet Eminem & Travis Porter,

Behind The Bars: Are you really married to big t?

Jaz The Rapper: no. I don't like bagels.
